Now that schools back in and summer is fading into the past, we look forward to fall post season baseball. Football pre-season is thankfully over, and Basketball and Hockey couldn't be more welcome for this Reds fan.
The Hall of Fame weekends always lead to a flurry of trades, buys and sells. Just like the stock market, we go up and down with the latest moves and who's hot right now. Griffey and Piazza have had a nice bump up in those categories, and for good reason. Both have had a wonderful baseball career and very well received by fans. Football's heroes like newly inducted HOF Brett Favre will also see a spike in his cardboard as well. Those hard to land inserts are just a click away to being filed in your collection for the right strike price of course. I always liked seeing how things would play out by year end in the Cardboard and Stock Market. The growing trends of modern era to vintage prices for key cards have most of us in a tizzy trying to trade, buy or sell. I have had ups and missed marks from selling to early or not at all when the market was up on players like Stephen Curry. I found a second rookie 2009 Topps but, didn't make the sale for the highest price in time. I still got a couple hundred bucks so it was still an awesome return on my investment. The way I see it is to not have all of your eggs or cards in one basket. Stay with your sure deals, but step out of your comfort zone sometimes too. Make great trades with others and a lot of collectors can help you along the way. The future is bright I think!
-That's just my 2 cents on the matter.
