I haven't been this excited to get my hands on a pack of Stadium Club in a longtime, until this year's release. The photography is breath taking of poses and backgrounds that make you think you can pickup the smells of the ballpark and right there behind the camera. Simply stunning cards of current players and homage paid to some of our pastimes best. So here below are a few gems and what I deem my favorites like Bo Jackson, George Springer, Lou Gehrig, Dale Murphy and Billy Hamilton so far. Enjoy busting those packs

We all know by today that it seems the new allegations against Pete Rose will further his chances of not getting voted into the Hall of Fame. "Say it ain't so Rose", because this may just be the last stitch in a glove closing up on him getting into the Hall. I really do feel his stats have earned the right to be in, but unfortunately betting on baseball is a habit that he couldn't resist partaking in. I am saddened to hear about the old flame of this tragedy sparking back up in a negative light, but this may be it for him. Ty Cobb was a real nut case that shanked people with his cleats, and he got into the Hall still. So I just can't understand why this can't be forgiven since he hustled so hard on the field too. We will never see this again from a man with such dedication to the game, but also such will to bet on baseball at the same time. I guess we will have to see how much that "Charlie" can "Hustle" his way out of this.

Panini has their Father's Day giveaway promotion in full swing this weekend for all you Dads out there. I for one, hope to get my hands on a pack to pull some cardboard gold. I will settle for free cards any day though. I think the hobby is in a great state right now, and I couldn't be more excited for The National coming up in Chicago this year. My first time to take my wife and 4 year old son to "The Show", and watch their jaws drop in amazement to all of the pastime and new era collectables out there to be had. See this cool article below for more info on the Panini promo. Happy Father's Day!!! http://www.sportscollectorsdaily.com/whats-hot-in-the-shop-fathers-day-promo-packs/

Check out the story on more long lost Tobacco sized cards found in a cookie tin. I get anxious just thinking about finding cards like that. You just never know how many are still kept hidden or packed away all these years. http://www.sportscollectorsdaily.com/1909-philadelphia-caramel-cards-found-in-old-cookie-tin/
So today was a good day, considering I just got my Joe Jackson autographed card that is the Great, great, great nephew of Shoeless Joe. I really hope he pans out, but I will keep it regardless for collection relevancy. I do believe in second chances, and it's a shame Joe and Pete Rose got the shaft. They are still Hall of Famers in my book. Now let's just hope this young Joe can bring some baseball peace back to his family and shine once more through Shoeless Joe's nephew. Oh yeah, and I have 2 more of these on the way. Yey me!
When I find the time to dig through a box of "cardboard gold", I seem to leave feeling I accomplished another good day of digging to add to plastic pages of my favorite players, and a few to peddle off back into the market for another card connoisseur to hedge their bets on or add in the abyss of cardboard sport paper bliss boxes. I usually always feel unsatisfied after ripping packs, with that euphoric induced feeling of sports crack in thin plastic or paper holdings of these minimal interest ball players. Today I am adding a new stack of cards for my own self righteous needs. Inserts, base cards, who cares as long as they are the cards I really want and I know what I'm paying for.
